My home is in New Bern, North Carolina, where I've lived for almost twenty two years. I moved to North Carolina from Baltimore, Maryland after I survived Marine Corps boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina, from November 24, 1975 to January 25, 1976.
Ernie and I were married in the garden in our back yard on Thanksgiving Day, 1990. This was the official wedding date. We had actually been married eight days earlier on November 14, in front of the Craven County magistrate. (I wanted Ernie to understand that he was married!) We now live in a beautiful, new Horton double-wide trailer sitting on approximately seven acres of property. Only three acres are cleared, but we have all the space filled with the most wonderful "Habitat"
for animals.

You see, we share our lives with 80 exotic birds, 2 large emus (and about 15 1998 baby emus!), a Doberman and a beagle dog, a 16 year old pure black cat named Samantha, a 1200 gallon fish pond with Koi and Channel catfish swimming around, 2 Canadian geese named Conkus and Madeline, and a partridge in a pear tree. It IS almost Christmas, isn't it? (really no partridge or a pear tree, but it was a nice thought, wasn't it?)
