Phriends and Phamily

A little more history....

When I was discharged from the Marine Corps, I kind of flaked around the general area trying to find a path to take with my life.

After a few false starts, I earned my Associate Degrees in General Office Technology, 1987, and Business Administration, 1991.

Now I was ready to face the world! And where I ended up was on the same military base as I was stationed so many years ago when I was in the Marine Corps. Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, North Carolina.

How ironic! I was hired into the 4 year Apprentice Program at the Naval Air Depot, as a computer mechanic trainee, and after a 4 year concentrated course, I graduated with my journeymen's license in March 1992.

Since then I have still been empoyed by the Naval Air Depot, Cherry Point, but currently I am an Industrial Engineering Technician. That means, I get to requisition all the computer parts for all the different shops at the NADEP where over 4400 people are presently employed.

It's quite a large responsibility!

And now you ask, "well, that's all fine and dandy, but where is the part about being a Parrothead?" Bet you thought I'd forget..... NOT! One of the most important time periods of my life! And even though I'm brand new to the world of Jimmy Buffett, lo and behold if I haven't taken the life style to heart and run with it. You can see by the pictures below, all the wonderful friends I've made in this particular world!

My sister, Shari, and her husband, Dale, introduced me to Jimmy Buffett music several years ago, but also made me understand that the only way I'd ever see one of his concerts is if I bought season tickets somewhere.... his concerts were ALWAYS sold out! Ernie and I were convinced we would only be able to sit in a kiddie pool with a Hawaiin lei around our necks, Margaritas in hand (NO SALT) and listen to his music on a boom box! And then a miracle occurred! A local radio station was running a contest where the 10th caller, after hearing a particular Jimmy Buffett song play, would win 2 lawn tickets at the Walnut Creek Ampitheatre in Raleigh, NC. Guess who was the 10th caller that afternoon in May 1996? You guessed it! And guess when those 2 wonderfully golden tickets were for? My BIRTHDAY, August 6! So ever since my birthday last year, I have been a converted ParrotHead and have sucked in all the delights that go with that title. And that's MY story!

This page is here just for you, so kick your shoes off, sit back, and enjoy the musical melody by Redsal. Now on to the fun.....
